as i mentioned in the Dinner At Eight :: Is porn bad for sex podcast, i spoke to cindy gallop last week about her MakeLoveNotPorn project which ended up being quite a discussion about her new venture MakeLoveNotPorn.tv
i’ll upload the interview once the article is out. cindy is quite something to talk to, in fact, you don’t so much ‘talk to’ as ‘listen to’ … ‘gallop’ is a very apt name for this particular entrepreneurial firebrand.
anyway. the basic premise of MakeLoveNotPorn.tv is that it becomes a community of curated ‘real world porn’ that is uploaded from normal couples having normal sex with all the bloopers and funnies and condom moments thrown in. as the delightful-looking madame curator says: ‘We love #realworldsex in all its messy, silly, sticky, awkward complexity.’

this is not youporn. first off, most of those ‘amateur’ porn uploads are anything but and still adhere to the bog-standard MacDonalds anal/faceshot/gangbang yadda yadda. MLNPTV is not that. ultimately it follows on from cindy’s goal with MakeLoveNotPorn.com to start addressing the differences in the fantasy of porn and the reality of real-life sex, by showing real-life couples having fun with real-life sex.
(an aside: a plum pointed out that some women do come from penetrative sex. this is true, though, as one of them, i can say for myself that while its sometimes quite delicious just to be fucked, that kind of jack hammering penetration is 99% unlikely to bring me to orgasm. also, from what we know about the clit now, that ‘internal’ orgasm might just be a really extended clit orgasm, hence all the need for grinding and rubbing…)
i’m curious to see if this will kick off in the way everyone hopes. when it comes to videotaping my sex, i’m still a bit of a prude, so i always imagine the rest of the world is. a truly dumb quasi-assumption to make considering i know better. anyway. after watching this preview video of porn stars and real-life couple lily and danny chatting about their choice to post to the site, i’m a little more convinced it will.

Sounds interesting. I can say for me at least main stream porn has turned a bit sour and i normally hangout at amatuer homemade stuff.

really? the aim of MLNPTV is for everyone to represented – queer, straight, black, pink, purple, big, small … i think this is going to blow a lot of the stereotypes out of the water
